Former Miss Metro Tema, Tina wins Influential Beauty Queen at 2nd Edition of Spotlight Awards Africa ,

 

A former Miss Metro Tema queen, Queen Tina has won the Influential Beauty Queen of the Year at the just-ended second edition of 2022 Spotlight Awards Africa held on Saturday 16th July 2022 at the Airport West Hotel.

Queen Tina, known in private life as Miss Ernestina Adzo Dika, in receiving her award, expressed gratitude to family, friends and loved ones who voted for her and acknowledged the organisers of the award scheme for throwing the spotlight on her.

She noted that she launched the LaLoC Foundation immediately after the pageantry to educate young people on the importance of protecting the environment from waste encouraging them to practice waste segregation and felt honored to be noticed.




She also mentioned that as a beauty queen, she was empowered to serve humanity and has thus initiated the Free2Learn Project to assist basic school students in deprived communities in the country with some educational materials.

Queen Tina said, with this recognition, “I am more encouraged and determined to continue with my service to young people as I want to see change and development in every aspect of their lives. The world needs empowered youth who will make a better change in the world.”

Project Executive of Spotlight Awards Africa, Miss Mimi Owusu-Appiah, in her opening encouraged the youth in the country to continue to work hard and that this award scheme was instituted to throw spotlight on the good works for the world to celebrate them.

She added that, Spotlight Awards Africa will continue to celebrate and award youth contributing their quota to the society and in their various fraternities such as entertainment, entrepreneurship and the economy at large.

The night saw nominees and honorees gracing the colorful event and guests enjoyed thrilling performances from Swiss bands with contemporary and indigenous Ghanaian music.

The Chief of Upper Dixcove in the Ahanta West Municipality in the Western Region, Obrempon Hima Dekyi XIV and the CEO of InvestEye Capital, Nana Osae Addo were the special guests of the ceremony.

An honoree on the night, Mr. Nelson Boateng, CEO of NELPLAST Eco Ghana Limited, lauded the scheme for their honor and affirmed that his outfit will continue to use waste material to build schools and affordable houses in the years to come.

In all, 12 categories received their plaques and certificates, and three astute honorees also received their citation and plaques.

Other awardees for the categories of Online CEO, Content creator and Female Entrepreneur were Rebecca Asabeah Partey, Naaku Allotey and Maud Amenu respectively. 

For the categories of Food blogger, Discovery of the year, Innovative youth and Emerging Brand, the winners were Narkie Yeboah, Samuel Oseigyei Kumar, Cistus Owusu Abrefa and Blush Amber Jewelry respectively.

The remaining awardees were Nana Yaw Kesi, Afia Agyakoma Bonsu, Omonike Mercy Samuel and Unique Hemaa Establishment in the categories for Youth in Music, Outstanding Youth Personality, Beauty Enterpreneur, Beauty Brand of the year respectively.

The other honorees were Dr Emmanuel Bortey Borketey, CEO of Charger Limited, makers of Happy Man Beverages, and Charger Transport, Mr Lawrence Owusu Fianko, CEO of Educom Worldwide, Mrs. Sandra Odige, CEO of La Mode Magazine.
