#InspirationalChat: Bola Ray was not happy with my resignation from Starr Fm - Caleb Nii Boye

In this episode of Inspirational Chat, we speak to broadcaster and producer, Caleb Nii Boye. Caleb describes himself as a versatile practitioner, capable of doing anything media related.

He was born on the 11th of October to Isaac Lartey Boye and the late Gertrude Amorkor Amaah.

Caleb's journey in the media started after he participated in a reality show in Nigeria where he was asked in a task to act as presenter. After giving a superb performance, the executive producer asked him to try radio and that was it.

He came back and began as an intern at Starr FM where he was an assistant producer, after six months he was employed as the main producer for two shows.

He has worked with several Ghanaian TV personalities like KOD, Anita Erskine, Giovanni Caleb, George Quaye and many others.

“The CEO of EIB, Bola Ray was not happy with my resignation at Starr Fm which made me feel sad but I had to leave because of a few things I was going through” he said.
Touching on some challenges he has faced in the media, the producer said building contacts in the beginning was difficult and believes the pay(salaries) of producers can get better.

Another difficulty he mentioned in the media space is the lack of unity.

According to Caleb, we should not compare Ghana music to Nigerian music because they have a very large population and they listen to their own music.

When asked about his favorite musicians, Nii Boye mentioned Edem, Tinny, Adane Best, Reggie Rockstone, Sarkodie, Manifest, Samini, Daddy Lumba, Kojo Antwi.

Caleb’s advice to the youth is to “keep knocking, keep pushing, and pray”.
