AFRIMASS Empowers Media Professionals with Inspiring Insights on Media Advertising and Business Innovation in Ghana

The 5th African Media Advertising Sales Summit (AFRIMASS) program on Media Advertising and Business Innovation started on a high note, attracting media professionals and enthusiasts alike which took place on Wednesday, November 22 and ended on November 23, 2023 at the Accra Digital Centre, Accra.

The two-day program is designed to provide participants with the latest industry trends, strategies, and tools to succeed in an ever-evolving media landscape.

On the first day of the program, many impressive speakers  shared their expertise and insights. 

Pulse Ghana Managing Director, Colette Amaesi, took to the stage to stress the importance of understanding your audience and tailoring the media environment to suit their preferences. She emphasized the importance of creating interactive content, collaborating with influencers, and building a strong community to drive engagement and growth.

Yvonne Ocloo, esteemed founder of TopDog Africa, an African creative marketing communications brand, delivers a compelling talk on leveraging experiential assets to drive media growth  and create meaningful experiences for consumers.  She highlighted how immersive and interactive campaigns  leave a lasting impression on viewers, ultimately benefiting both brands and media companies.

Another distinguished speaker, Gad Ocran, highlighted the digital transformation of the media industry and the importance of building engaged digital communities.

 He emphasized the need for media professionals to adapt to  changing circumstances and use digital platforms to effectively engage with audiences.

 Also present at the event were Mr. Bright Ladzekpo, CEO of PHD Media Ghana, Mr. Edward Aikins from Deloitte Ghana, and  Professor Kobby Mensah from the University of Ghana Business School, who shared  valuable insights and expertise in their respective fields.

On the final day of the summit, Mr. Eric Osei-Annor, Sales Consultant at Lurick Concept and Marketing Manager at MG Automobiles, took the stage as a guest speaker to discuss the art of digital sales. He emphasized the importance of empowering sales professionals with a digital mindset, highlighting how digital sales break down geographical barriers, provide 24/7 accessibility, offer data-driven insights, and are cost-efficient. Osei-Annor stressed the significance of adaptability to technology, a customer-centric approach, agility, innovation, and continuous learning for sales professionals in the digital era.

Other speakers include Jay Foley, a renowned figure in the industry, Kobby Nkrumah, Head of Digital at EIB Network and Eli Daniel-Wilson, Director of Sales and Strategy at Pulse Ghana shared insights on business innovation and media advertising and the need to embrace technology to avoid being left behind.

The summit also featured a panel discussion on the topic of revenue and innovation, moderated by Edward Owusu, Commercial Director of 3 MUSIC TV. Panelists included Anna Coleman, Sales Manager at Global Media Alliance; Malik Mustapha, Account Manager at Multimedia Group Ltd; and Shadrack Adjetey, Senior Account Manager at DSTV Media Sales Ghana.

The Founder & Managing Partner of AFRIMASS NETWORK, Sir Raymond Smith expressed his vision for the program, emphasizing the importance of training and capacity-building to empower individuals in the media industry.

Participants were thrilled with the wealth of knowledge and practical advice shared during the event. The interactive sessions provided a platform for networking and collaboration, fostering a sense of community among media professionals.
