Queen Elizabeth II’s Death Certificate Shows That She Passed Away From “Old Age”

Queen Elizabeth II’s cause of death has been revealed.

On Thursday, the National Records of Scotland shared Elizabeth’s death certificate that showed she passed away from “old age.” The document, the says Elizabeth died on September 8th at 3:10 p.m, also listed her daughter Princess Anne as an informant of her death.

The Royal Family announced the 96-year-old’s passing just three hours after it occurred.

“The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon,” they said in a tweeted. “The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.”

The news about Elizabeth’s death came after Buckingham Palace shared that she was under “medical supervision” because of rising health concerns.

Elizabeth’s son, King Charles, issued a statement on his loss and says that her death “is a moment of the greatest sadness.”

“We mourn profoundly the passing of a cherished Sovereign and a much-loved Mother,” he said. “I know her loss will be deeply felt throughout the country. The Realms and the Commonwealth, and by countless people around the world.”

Elizabeth sat on Britain’s throne for seven decades, making her the longest-reigning monarch in history. She leaves behind her children: Charles, Anne, Andrew, and Prince Edward. As well as eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandkids.
