Twitter says it is actively testing edit button with select users
On Thursday, the social media app announced that they’re testing a new feature that users have constantly been requesting. The updated feature will allow users to edit their tweets for up to 30 minutes after posting them.
“If you see an edited Tweet, it’s because we’re testing the edit button. This is happening, and you’ll be okay,” the app tweeted.

The modified tweets will appear with an icon, label, and timestamp to make them easier to identify. The feature will allow users to click through the “edit history” to see past versions.
The company says the edited tweets are being tested internally and will expand to its paid Twitter Blue service later this month. Some users may not be able to access the feature but will still be able to see edited tweets.
“Like any new feature, we’re intentionally testing Edit Tweet with a smaller group to help us incorporate feedback while identifying and resolving potential issues. This includes how people might misuse the feature,” the company said.
The announcement doesn’t come as a surprise since the company shared that they would test out the feature for a year in April. The news came the same day as the company revealed that Elon Musk would be added to its board.
During this time, Musk polled his followers about whether they’d like an edit button on the platform. However, after the edit feature was confirmed, the app clarified, “no, we didn’t get the idea from a poll.”
