Nigerian singer, Tems Covers Bob Marley’s ‘No Woman, No Cry’ In ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ Soundtrack

Nigerian award-winning singer, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems has joined the ranks of over 70 artists who have covered Bob Marley’s No Woman, No Cry (1974). 

The Afrobeats singer’s voice and Bob’s lyrics are front and center in Marvel Studios’ first teaser trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which debuted yesterday at San Diego Comic-Con.

The trailer, released on Sunday, was soundtracked by Tems’ rendition of Bob Marley’s “No Woman, No Cry” and Kendrick Lamar’s “Alright”.

Following the release of the trailer, fans of the singer have taken to Twitter to celebrate her for her latest feat.

Sharing the trailer on his Twitter page, Tems’ manager, Muyiwa Awoniyi, wrote,”Grateful to the amazing people at @MarvelStudios. BIG LOVE to the legend Ryan Coogler.

“It’s @temsbaby on the official Black Panther 2 trailer. My father in heaven. Thank you once again. Rest in peace @chadwickboseman”

Listing the singer’s current wins, a fan, @eyavicente, tweeted, “In one year, Tems went to have a collab with Future and Drake, won best international act (BET Awards), has a featuring on Beyonce’s upcoming album and now the same Tems covers Bob Marley ‘No Woman No Cry’ for the official trailer of Marvel’s ‘Wakanda Forever’”.

Another fan, @maloms, wrote, “Tems has been featured on Future, Drake, Beyoncé’s album and now Soundtrack on Wakanda Forever. Tems is highly blessed.”

“Big tems has featured on the Black Panther soundtrack. This year’s truly her year!!,” @062Wanye tweeted.
