Harriet Thompson becomes first-ever female British High Commissioner to Ghana
Ms Harriet Thompson has been appointed British High Commissioner to the Republic of Ghana and Non-resident British High Commissioner to the Republic of Benin in succession to Mr Iain Walker who will be transferring to another Diplomatic Service appointment. Ms Thompson will take up her appointment during Summer 2021.

Harriet Thompson will replace Iain Walker, who has been the UK’s High Commissioner to Ghana since August 2017.
Former High Commissioner to Ghana, Jon Benjamin also made a tweet to congratulate his successor, Iain Walker, and welcome the incoming, Harriet Thompson.
