Judge Rejects Kevin Hart’s Request To Drop $7 Million Lawsuit Over His Sex Tape Extortion Drama

Kevin Hart is expected to defend himself in a $7 million legal battle after a judge shut down his request to have the case tossed over its similarities with his 2017 sex tape extortion scandal.

Back in December, Hart filed a countersuit against Stand Up Digital in response to their $7.2 million lawsuit over their failed partnership. In the initial suit, the company accused Hart of ruining their joint mobile app launch with the drama of his extramarital affair, and in response, Hart denied the allegations.

In the countersuit, Hart said the launch could have easily been postponed as he dealt with his own personal issues, and in addition to that, he detailed the blackmail and extortion plot that unfolded after his affair. He also accused the company of using him “in a similar manner by… using this meritless lawsuit to extract more money from him,” and as a result, he demanded the case be tossed.

But now, just weeks after Hart’s rebuttal, a judge has ruled in favor of Stand Up Digital and rejected his request to throw out the case.

According to a court order obtained by The Blast, a judge determined that Hart’s business partner, Stand Up Digital, provided enough evidence to proceed with the case, which means Hart will have to defend himself against the $7 million lawsuit.
