Comedian Kevin Hart surprises 18 students with $600,000 worth of College Scholarships
Superstar comedian and actor, Kevin Hart surprised 18 HBCU college students with $600,000 worth of College Scholarships at a dinner last night.
According to a press release, the surprise happened during a United Negro College Fund dinner.
Kevin joined forces with UNCF and KIPP Knowledge
Is Power Program to present his $600,000 gift which went to deserving
students based on their personal and academic accomplishments.
The scholarship recipients included KIPP students from 11
historically black colleges and universities, including Morehouse
College, Spelman College, Fisk University, Dillard University and Xavier
University.

“I am living proof that if you put your mind to something you can not
only achieve it, but you can go above and beyond the expectations of
what you thought that you could do. After you open one door, the crazy
thing is you find out that there are seven more doors that you could
open,” Hart said. “Education is that first door. breeze through this!
“This is the opportunity of a lifetime breeze through it! When you
get to that next door…breeze through that. Success is what you want it
to be,” he added. “At the end of the day, we are what we want to be. Do
not allow others to hold you back.”
