Annie~Joy writes: The Back Door. Part 1 #BeInspired!
"I
was done with my National Service, and all I needed now was a job. I
applied and I got it even when I didn’t wow the panelists.
I had only one thing to do,_ satisfy the manager because I had it all when it came to beauty. An attribute God didn’t deny me.
I
remember I slept with my boss and virtually spent the night with him in
hotels. For me, I cared less because I also have the job.
Now this is where I really came to understand what people meant by *”the world isn’t fair”*
I
got to the office one morning and was called to a board meeting. At the
end, I was asked to resign from the job because management realized I
didn’t meet the requirements of the office I was holding. Plus, I didn’t
contribute my quota to the company’s growth.
All because I thought my beauty was going to save me, I gave myself out and lost it afterwards. What was the point at all?
Then I learnt the lesson that it’s not profitable to use the back door to get to the front door.
I
gave my pride out to obtain a livelihood which I could have learnt by
acquiring the skills and knowledge of it. The man who deceived me by my
beauty also for a second never thought to teach me the needed skills.
All he did was take advantage of me.
Is he to be blame? Or I am to be blame?"
To be continued..
