ECOM Ghana Sign a Three-Year Contract to Support GUBA Awards and GUBA Careers

GUBA have announced a three-year partnership with Ghana’s leading licensed cocoa buying company, ECOM Ghana to support GUBA’s annual awards as well as the GUBA Careers initiative.

The partnership will further increase awareness of the importance of ECOM Ghana cocoa and other commodity exports from Ghana to the United Kingdom. GUBA will be working with ECOM Ghana to further expand the knowledge of Ghana’s cocoa and commodity trade through a three-year partnership that reaches GUBA’s influential business, political and community network.

Having recently facilitated a meeting between President Nana Akufo Addo and London Mayor Sadiq Khan during the recent Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in London, GUBA continues to be at the forefront of expanding business, cultural and community relationships between the UK and Ghana and the announcement of this long term partnership with ECOM Ghana paves the way for an even stronger knowledge base and relationship between Ghana and the United Kingdom.

ECOM Ghana works with over 140,000 farmers as the leading private licensed cocoa buying company, it also sells and buy other crops. ECOM Ghana provides advisory services, training and support to farmers on productivity, quality, certification, crop diversification, environmental and other broader social issues. ECOM Ghana buys approximately 20% of bean exports, as such ECOM Ghana is central to Ghana’s export success story. One of GUBA’s role is to further expand business opportunities in the UK for Ghanaian businesses and individuals as well as help expand the knowledge base of Ghana’s exports to UK retailers, businesses and consumers.

The GUBA Awards, launched in 2010, is the largest and most influential programme designed to celebrate the very best in Ghanaian British achievement across business sectors and the wider community. This year’s awards will include senior representatives from the British and Ghanaian governments including the President of Ghana.

GUBA Careers is an organisation that seeks to bridge the gap between those who are interested in moving back to Ghana after being a part of the Ghanaian Diaspora and it’s a platform to help match highly skilled graduates and professionals with recruiting organisations in Ghana. It also presents an opportunity for investment in Ghana and support for our community. The three-year partnership starts with the 2018 GUBA Awards held in Greenwich, London on 13th and 14th July 2018 and is effective across GUBA initiatives in Ghana and the United Kingdom.
