DStv and GOtv See Double! ROK Launches Two Brand New Channels

In response to growing demand for quality homegrown African content, MultiChoice and ROK, the award-winning film studio and entertainment brand, has launched not one, but two brand new channels on DStv and GOtv on Thursday 5th April ROK 2 and ROK 3.

As the ROK brand consolidates its space in the broadcast industry with this launch, Ghanaian film producers will now have a fine window to showcase their productions to Africa on DStv and GOtv.

Speaking on the launch, ROK CEO Mary Njoku says: “We are so excited to be extending the ROK platform across two new channels this week on DStv and GOtv. Today’s announcement is really a testament to our fans and their support for the type of storytelling we do here at ROK. We’ve had so much fun working in Ghana, to produce and acquire more original Ghanaian movies and series for ROK 3, as well as making sure that our Tribal and Palace Regal fans have lots of new titles to enjoy, on ROK 2.

As always, we keep our focus purely on ensuring amazing stories are told with passion and sincerity, by teams of super-talented African writers, actors, producers and directors. This approach to building the ROK brand has resonated with audiences across the continent, and we continue to strive to meet their needs and delight them with great content”.

ROK 3 is a 24hr movie, series and music channel, showcasing a wide variety of talent from Ghana. 

Celebrating a mix of local language movies (Kumawood) alongside modern urban delights (Ghallywood) from 8am daily and topped with music from West Africa overnight. The channel launches with titles including Black & White, Stalemate, Banks Chronicles, Agya Fakye Me, Ama Pooley, Born Again, Coach Krakye and Ye Obi Dea Yie. ROK 3 will be available across Africa on DStv Channel 164 and GOtv MAX & Plus on Channel 118.

ROK 2 is a 24hr movie and series channel, showcasing the origins of Nollywood and will be available on DStv Channel 169 on the Family package and GOtv MAX on Channel 117. ROK 2 & ROK 3 are part of the IROKO group, a leading movie producer and TV channel for Africa that started broadcasting in November 2016.
