DStv Commercial Subscription Prices Slashed and more Ghanaian entertainment added to ROK 3

MultiChoice Ghana’s priority is putting customers at the heart of our business and this is exactly what we have done! In the last two years we have offered the best value entertainment by combining both quality and variety at a reduced rate to ensure everyone has access to great family entertainment.

Consistently we have remodeled our business and adjusted our pricing and content to best suit the varied lifestyle of our subscribers. We are excited to announce a price freeze on all DStv and GOtv packages for our residential subscriber however our commercial subscribers will get some decreases effective the 1st of April 2018.

DStv & GOtv customers’ football experience will be taken to a whole new level when the FIFA World Cup kicks off in Russia in June this year. All 64 matches will be broadcast live in High Definition. The world’s best footballers will be on the world’s best sports broadcaster! This is the promise from SuperSport, which will broadcast an unprecedented offering of World Cup football, beginning long before the event itself in June.

In mid-April, the switch will be flipped on a 24-hour World Cup channel (SuperSport 13), allowing fans an appetiser of the 2018 FIFA World Cup to come later from the heart of Russia. According to Cecil Sunkwa Mills, General Manager, MultiChoice Ghana, “the pop up channels will be packed with legacy content, highlights, documentaries, FIFA films, classic matches and interviews, the channel will also feature warm-up matches to prepare every football fan for the tournament that traditionally gets the world talking.”

All 64 matches of the 2018 FIFA World Cup will be available on all DStv packages as well as on the GOtv Max and Plus packages while GOtv Value customers can view a significant number of games. GOtv Lite customers can also enjoy a select number of fixtures available on free-to-air channels.

The recent improvement in 4G coverage and general internet speeds in Ghana coupled with the increasing mobility of our subscribers made the DStv Now service an invaluable product. Subscribers watch their favourite shows online via the App on their desktop, laptop, smartphone or tablet. Besides streaming live TV, subscribers can set programme reminders, remote record to their Explora decoders and catch up on their favourite movies and series they may have missed. This value-added service is now available to all DStv subscribers no matter the package they are on. In addition, subscribers can link up to five devices to their subscription at no additional monthly cost. The content available on DStv Now include Sports, General Entertainment, News & Commerce, Music, Documentary, Children, Lifestyle & Culture, and Religion and some of Ghanaian channels. All the World Cup matchs will be streamed live on DStv Now.

These changes we have announced today are not only a defining moment in our MultiChoice story, but also a defining moment for the Ghanaian entertainment landscape and we are proud to add to the DStv and GOtv offering two new channels ROK 2 and ROK 3 from the 5th of April. Cecil Sunkwa-Mills, General Manager, MultiChoice Ghana added, “ROK 3 will be featuring more Ghanaian content that ever before providing a massive window for our film and television producers to showcase their content to the wider African market. Pushing as hard as we can to delight every television entertainment fan in Africa”. He adds, “we would also be announcing a groundbreaking project next month targeted at the creative arts next month”.

“The current price stability, coupled with the major boost in entertainment option across all DStv and GOtv packages demonstrates MultiChoice Ghana’s commitment to ensuring our customers receive the best possible family entertainment and outstanding value at the most affordable prices” concluded Cecil Sunkwa-Mills, General Manager, MultiChoice Ghana.
