Vodafone Supports Damba Festival With Ghc 5,000

In line with its commitment to supporting indigenous Ghanaian culture, Vodafone Ghana has donated a sum of GHS 5,000 to the Wa Traditional Council towards this year's Damba Festival.

A team of Vodafone employees, led by the Zonal Sales Manager, presented the cheque to the planning committee at a grand durbar held in Wa.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the Traditional Council, Mr. Haamidu Saidu Bomison,
Chairman, Damba Festival Planning Committee said:

“We are extremely grateful to Vodafone Ghana for this support. This gesture s a commendable one and we will use the funds judiciously. We will take this opportunity to invite Vodafone to be a part of our festivities.’’

Commenting on the donations, Gayheart Mensah, Director of External Affair at Vodafone Ghana said:

 “Vodafone Ghana supports the passions of Ghanaians which includes festival celebration. We are aware of the significance of Damba festival to the people of Wa and we are excited to be part of this year’s celebration. ‘’

The gesture is one of the many efforts by Vodafone Ghana to support the sustenance of cultural activities in Ghanaian communities, and Vodafone continues to spread its support for the cultural heritage across the country.

The Damba Festival is celebrated by the chiefs and people of the Upper West Region of Ghana. The festival is celebrated in the Dagomba lunar month of Damba.
