MultiChoice Ghana Congratulates Bastie Samir

The highly anticipated Make or Break bout lived up to its billing over the weekend leading to the end of the reign of Briamah Kamoko aka Bukom Banku.

The bout was organized by Box Office Promotions and aired live on DStv and GOtv to the delight of the charged atmosphere at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra.

The bout settled a three-year exchange of words by the two boxers Briamah Kamoko and Bastie Samir who had an unblemished record.

Speaking after the fight, Cecil Sunkwa Mills, General Manager, MultiChoice Ghana, congratulated Bastie Samir on his victory and assured boxing fans of many more world class broadcast productions live from Ghana.

Adding that “SuperSport is the continent’s leading funder of sport and local production and we’re proud of the contribution we make to the development of sports. We would continue to forge long-term partnerships with promoters, broadcasters and entrepreneurs to bring back the glory days of sports in Ghana.”

In interviews before the fight Bukom Banku had promised to end it all in the sixth round and went ahead to record a song taunting his challenger.

Bukom Banku’s fans clad in all white with the number six embossed in the back could not hold back their tears when he came crashing down in the seventh round following a barrage of punches from Bastie Samir. A few seconds earlier the bout was halted by the referee for the medical team to inspect a cut on the eyelid Bukom Banku.

Speaking after the fight Bastie Samir thanked his fans for the confidence they had in him and commend Bukom Banku for being a good sport.

The Make or Break Bout was organized by Box Office Promotions and broadcast exclusively on SuperSport on DStv and GOtv. The bout will be rebroadcast later in the week on GHOne TV and Agoo TV.
