A seven-month-old baby boy was one lucky child who was pulled alive
and unharmed from the rubble of a collapsed building after a popular
tourist island of Ischia, off Naples, Italy, was hit by an earthquake at
around 9pm last night
According to reports, two people have been killed after being crushed
by rubble and several children including two siblings, aged four and
seven, are still trapped in collapsed buildings.
Police fear the death toll could rise further with six missing in
their collapsed homes following the earthquake, which measured at least
3.6 on the Richter scale, hit the resort island.
A woman was reportedly killed in the north of the small island after
being hit by debris that fell from a church, with the body of another
spotted in the rubble of a collapsed house.
But this extraordinary footage below shows the moment seven-month-old baby Pasquale was pulled alive from a collapsed building.
The firefighters carefully 'shush' the baby as he was freed and
handed to a doctor who reunited him with his mother Alessia at the
nearby Rizzoli hospital in Lacco Ameno.
