A seven-month-old baby boy was one lucky child who was pulled alive and unharmed from the rubble of a collapsed building after a popular tourist island of Ischia, off Naples, Italy, was hit by an earthquake at around 9pm last night

According to reports, two people have been killed after being crushed by rubble and several children including two siblings, aged four and seven, are still trapped in collapsed buildings.

Police fear the death toll could rise further with six missing in their collapsed homes following the earthquake, which measured at least 3.6 on the Richter scale, hit the resort island.

A woman was reportedly killed in the north of the small island after being hit by debris that fell from a church, with the body of another spotted in the rubble of a collapsed house.

But this extraordinary footage below shows the moment seven-month-old baby Pasquale was pulled alive from a collapsed building.

The firefighters carefully 'shush' the baby as he was freed and handed to a doctor who reunited him with his mother Alessia at the nearby Rizzoli hospital in Lacco Ameno.
