Watch: Wimbledon 2017: Venus Williams cries about crash in which man died

Venus Williams broke down in tears before walking out of an emotional press conference following her first round Wimbledon win over Elise Mertens.

Williams was speaking publicly for the first time since she discovered she was being sued by the family of a Florida man after a car crash police say she caused.

The American star initially swerved questions alluding to the tragic accident which happened in Florida last month.

But eventually she addressed them, saying: "There are no words to describe how devastating...I'm completely speechless."

Williams then left the press conference as she struggled to speak through the tears before eventually returning to take more questions.
