Watch “The Story of O.J” – the First Official Video off JAY-Z’s “4:44” Album
JAY-Z has shared his first official music video for his “4:44” album and it is for the song “The Story of O.J“.
The video, which has exclusively been on Tidal for a few days, has
now been released on his official YouTube page and has gotten almost
2million views in 24 hours.
According to USA Today, “the four minutes of black-and-white animation is meant to mimic blackface characters and other racist imagery of vintage Disney and Warner Bros. cartoons, among other studios guilty of using those representations.”
Earlier in the week on Monday, JAY-Z dropped a mini documentary on
Tidal, called “Footnotes for The Story of O.J.”, and it featured
prominent stars like Mahershala Ali, Michael Jordan, Chris Rock, Kendrick Lamar, Trevor Noah, and Will Smith talking about the black experience in America.
