2017 People’s Choice Awards Ghana announced for November 25
The GN Bank Awards is back as People’s Choice Awards Ghana. SpyderLee
Entertainment organizers of the awards unveiled the new name during a
special stakeholder and media event at the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel
in Accra.
The People’s Choice Awards Ghana is a scheme which seeks to award and
celebrate individuals and organizations which have contributed as well
as those that continue to excel in their various fields towards the
development of the Ghanaian Arts and Entertainment industry.
The People’s Celebrity Awards is a scheme which seeks to award and
celebrate individuals and organizations which have contributed as well
as those that continue to excel in their various fields towards the
development of the Ghanaian Arts and Entertainment industry.
Speaking to the media Mr Chris Koney, Awards Administrator said that
the move was to stay off the controversy that rocked the scheme when it
debuted in 2015.In 2015 a legal tussle between
Spyder Lee Entertainment and Evolution International over the name
People’s Choice Awards led to a change to GN Bank awards. The scheme
took place subsequently but Spyderlee were left with brand
reconciliation issues to solve hence now settling on GH People’s
Celebrity Awards.
The event is scheduled to take place later this year according to the organizers.
The People’s Celebrity Awards Board which is composed of respected
individuals within the Ghanaian Showbiz industry was introduced at the
event.
Members include Nana Nana Poku Osei (Hammer of Last Two Music Group),
Mary-Ann Acolatse (Broadcaster), Kwasi Kyei Darkwah (KKD,
Broadcaster), Socrate Safo (Movie Producer), Nana Bayin Dadson (Lecturer
AUCC), Tommy Annan Forson (Broadcaster) and Patrick Yaadar (Movie
Producer), Chris Koney (Awards Administrator) .
Others are Alex Ntiamoah-Boakye (Sports Promoter), Ahuma Bosco
Ocansey (Broadcaster & Executive, MUSIGA), Fred Kyei Mensah (Music
Producer), Bertrand Nana Turkson (Entertainment Enthusiast), Arnold
Asamoah Baidoo (Editor, Entertainmentgh.com), Edwin Kweku Edinkrah (CEO,
Spyder Lee Entertainment)
