Peter Bossman is a Ghanaian-born Slovenian medical doctor and
politician. He is currently serving as mayor of Piran, a city and
municipality in Slovenian Istria in south-western Slovenia.
Peter is a member of the centre-left Social Democrats party that
defeated the incumbent mayor at the time, Tomaž Gantar, in the October
2010 mayoral election to become Slovenia’s and Eastern Europe’s first black Mayor.
In 2011 he was also appointed to the Committee of the Regions of the European Union.
The Europe-based correspondent of TheAfricanDream.net,
Isaac Agbasi in the first week of June 2017 interviewed Mayor Bossman in
his office in Piran. Isaac is a youth empowerment activist originally
from Ghana who is now pursuing graduate programs in International
Studies in Italy. Isaac traveled to Piran in Slovenia to interview Peter
Bossman for this TheAfricanDream show.
The Mayor of Piran is also an old student of Mfantsipim Secondary School in Cape Coast, Ghana.
