Leslie Jones Accuses Ritz-Carlton of Racism: ‘They Don’t Like Black People’
The specter of racism has apparently descended on Leslie Jones' life
again.
"Saturday Night Live" alum Jones took to Twitter to complain of her stay at
the Ritz-Carlton while hosting the BET Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday, accusing
employees of the hotel of racism.
"Wow was such a great night at the BET awards," Jones wrote. "But then had
THE WORST STAY @RitzCarlton DO NOT STAY THERE!! THEY DONT LIKE BLACK
PEOPLE!!"
Jones did not elaborate on the accusation. TheWrap has reached out to her
manager for comment.
After Jones made the claim, the hotel reached out to her via Twitter to say
that it would "look into this right away."
"@Lesdoggg We're sorry to hear this," the high-end chain tweeted. "We pride
ourselves on providing excellent service to all. Please DM us & we'll look
into this right away."
While Jones did not detail what she found to be offensive about her stay at
the hotel, she's encountered enough racism to know it when she sees it. Last
year, Jones temporarily quit Twitter "with tears," after she was repeatedly
bombared with racist and misogynistic comments following her cating in the
"Ghostbusters" reboot.
"I leave Twitter tonight with tears and a very sad heart. All this cause I
did a movie," Jones wrote at the time. "You can hate the movie but the s** I got
today ... wrong."
She returned to the social media platform after alt-right darling Milo
Yiannopoulos, who was accused of leading a harassment campaign against her, was
permanently banned by Twitter.
"Welp ... a b**** thought she could stay away," Jones tweeted. "But who else
is going to live tweet Game of Thrones!!"
