3FM Business Pitch in Partnership with 3FM, TKC AFRICA, TV3 and YALI West Africa

The Knowledge Channel (TKC) Africa has signed a partnership with 3FM and YALI West Africa to implement a unique business pitching segment that enables entrepreneurs and social enterprises to pitch their business in 1 minute with the hope of obtaining $10,000 in cash and kind (such as 12 months of business coaching, media engagement, website development and hosting and the opportunity to attending the sort after Young Africa Leaders Initiative (YALI).

WHAT IS THE 3FM BUSINESS PITCH ALL ABOUT?

It is a competition, which offers entrepreneurs 3 unique opportunities:

To showcase their businesses to Ghana, Africa and the world via our tv and radio and social partners

Win cash investments and essential skills training for budding entrepreneurs

Gain access to strategic partners and markets for their products and services

HOW DOES IT WORK?

It is called 1-minute pitch because all competitors get 1 minute to explain their respective businesses.

On our website and on the call, applicants will be provided guidelines on how to effectively structure a 1-minute pitch

All applicants dial a number and then pitch their business for 1-minute.

After the call, all applicants automatically receive via SMS/text a unique 4 digit code which is linked to their pitch and the voting number

Each code is unique to the entrepreneur that pitched using his/her mobile phone

Applicants can then share the code with their friends, family and the rest of the public, who can call a voting number to vote for a particular pitch

The winner is determined by the number of votes receives from the public and judges

Each season consist of 3 months (13 weeks) and there would be a winner at the end of each season

The first 6 weeks of the month would be for pitching only. The 3FM Business Pitch pitching line will close on Sunday 7^th May 2017. At which stage the voting line will remain open for another 2 weeks before it closes on the Friday 26^th May.

The judges will then use 2 -3 days to evaluatetop 20 pitches the public has voted for.

The top 20pitchers/entrepreneurs will be given a 3 day intensive training (from June 8-10) with our partners Innohub Limited and the top 3 pitchers / entrepreneurs will continue to attaining the ultimate prize of $10,000 in cash and kind

The Voting lines will reopen on Wednesday 31^st May for the Top 3 entrepreneurs for the next 5 weeks until the Grand final, which will live in the TV3 auditorium on Wednesday 28^th June.
There, the Top will get 5 minutes to pitch their business to real investors live in the studio (ie. Similar to Dragons Den or Shark Tank) in the effort of obtaining the ultimate prize of $10,000 in cash and market access.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS FOR WINNERS?

A break-downof the 3FM Business Pitch prize (ie. $10,000 USD) is as follows:

$1,000 – cash

$3,000 – Media relations (TV3/Radio) including developing, maintaining and hosting website for 12 months
