Photos: Trees crash 19 to death at Kintampo Waterfalls

Report reaching donkorsblog.com from kintampo waters falls in the Brong Ahafo region is that, a heavy rainfall was recorded around 3:30pm today. 

Eyewitnesses say some of the heavy trees around the place fell into the water and as at now 17 people have been confirm dead.  

Officials of the Ghana National Fire Service and the Police including other disaster management officials have been to the disaster scene in a rescue effort.

It is believe that they are students from Wenchi senior high school. An eyewitnesses told donkorsblog.com, efforts are been made to take the logs from the water and to him, the death number could be increased. We pray for the rest to stay alive. 

The Kintampo Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent, Desmond Owusu Boampong has confirmed the incident and the death toll.

Several others have been rushed to the hospital for treatment.

The Kintampo Waterfalls is located on the Pumpum river, a tributary of the Black Volta, about 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) north of Kintampo municipality, on the Kumasi-Tamale road.
